Southern Cross Youth Initiative (SCYI) is establishing a national one-year residential high school for youth aged 13 to 17 with a history of substance abuse. The high school will provide a recognised educational program, vocational training, counseling (individual, groups and family) and related treatments. SCYI’s 21-acre campus is located in South Gippsland and is fully equipped with accommodation for 40 students, classrooms, dining and kitchen areas, recreational facilities, vocational training workshops, and many other resources.

As a non-profit, benevolent, charitable organisation, SCYI is currently engaged in funding discussions with a wide range of leaders in government, private enterprise and philanthropic groups. SCYI is awaiting registration as a school in Victoria once students are enrolled. We expect to implement the educational and treatment programs in 2009. SCYI will accept students from around Australia.
